2020

2020 Greetings from Diane and Alan!

We're wishing everybody a happy & healthy 2020.

We've been enjoying life and taking classes including these Osher Lifelong Learning ones:

Cosmic Origins, Cybersecurity -- Rock n Roll 2 -- After Fossil Fuels -- Infectious Diseases -- Women in Rock -- Ethnobotany -- Food Drink Culture Politics -- RocknRoll Road Trip 1

We also took some cooking classes:

Valentine's Dinner -- Ricotta Workshop -- Anti-inflammatory Cooking -- Indian Chaat -- Veggie dishes -- Sauces Workshop

Our big trip of 2019 was in September—a Viking river cruise that went along the Danube and Rhine rivers starting in Budapest and going to Vienna, Melk, Passau, Regensberg, Nuremberg, Bamberg, Wurzberg, Wertheim, Koblenz, Cologne, Kinderdijk and Amsterdam. The images below are a few of the hundreds we took. You may need to scroll to see all 17. The filenames give a clue as to where we were for each one. There was a danger that the river would get too low, but we lucked out and everything went great. In the first Regensburg image you see Diane standing on the bridge leading to the Würtzburg gate, but just to the left of Diane you can see tables & umbrellas of the cafe where we consumed some delicious sausages and the same cafe shown in the next photo of Alan having a bier. Also in Würzburg we walked over to the university and visited the Röntgen museum in memory of Alan's father who was a radiologist.

Our ship was named the Skirnir.
