2006

In 2006 we were on a Mediterranean cruise to see the total eclipse of the Sun viewed from Libya. Our cruise started in Italy (Genoa) and took us to Sicily, Egypt (Cairo), Libya (Tobruk and Tripoli), Malta, and back to Italy. Photos below show Alan at the eclipse site near Tobruk, (1) making a pinhole projection of the Sun and (2) using "crossed fingers" with both hands to make crude pinholes and corresponding projections of images of the Sun.
